- Serial number - Daigo 第号. This is the location of the registration number. The kanji are commonly spaced so that you're
able to write or type the numbers. - Diploma - Menjou 免状. It can also say Ninteisho 認定証 or Sho 証. Both mean Certificate. Another common kanji used in this section is 證, meaning Certificate as well.
- Recipients name. On the custom template this area is left blank for the instructor to fill in the student's name. This can be done in Japanese or in English.
- Rank. This area is reserved for the rank being awarded. On the custom template, this area is left blank for the instructor or issuing authority to fill out. We will provide a list matching all kyu and dan ranks.
- Award Text. Typically this follows a pattern of "The person on the right is permitted this dan rank 右段位を允許ス. This can be written this way, 右段位を授与する " The person on the right is conferred dan rank. Please specify weather this will be a dan rank or kyu rank certificate so we can adjust the writing accordingly.

- Issuing Authority. Depending on the situation this may show only the school name or a second line may be used to show the parent organizations.
- Instructor (s). Typically one or more instructors and their title are placed in this final area on the left.
- Heading. This area is typically the school or issuing authority followed by "Certificate", Rank Certificate", "Certification", etc. This can be done in English or Spanish.
